Fire rescuers plucked two people from the open ocean about a mile off Kaloli Point in Puna Friday morning after their 20-foot Bayliner boat capsized, according to a written Fire Department statement.
Fire rescuers plucked two people from the open ocean about a mile off Kaloli Point in Puna Friday morning after their 20-foot Bayliner boat capsized, according to a written Fire Department statement.
Six units, including a county helicopter, responded to the 10:40 a.m. report of a capsized vessel. The chopper found the two boaters treading water by the capsized vessel.
No injuries were reported.
The Coast Guard was called to arrange salvage of the vessel with the boat owner.
